Explosions reported in Strait of Hormuz raise Middle East risk

Oil prices rebounded while US stocks pulled lower, with the Nasdaq testing prior lows around 27,190 to 27,288.

Forexlive cited unverified Arab sources saying several severe explosions occurred in the Strait of Hormuz, and that a tanker was targeted.

The report said traders continue to weigh Middle East geopolitical risk.

Alongside the regional headlines, Forexlive said US stocks reversed lower, with the Nasdaq testing old swing area lows between 27,190 and 27,288. The Nasdaq traded near 27,210, while the S&P index fell below a previous high swing area around 7,771.48 and last traded around 7,756.29.
