French Hill pushes to revive the CLARITY Act this year
The effort follows continued crypto enforcement actions by the SEC and CFTC, which Hill said cannot replace new legislation.
Cointelegraph reports that House Financial Services Committee Chair French Hill is pushing Congress to revive the CLARITY Act this year.
The outlet says Hill argued that recent crypto actions by the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission cannot replace legislation, which is part of why he is seeking another attempt to pass the bill.
Cointelegraph also pointed to other contemporaneous crypto items from the same day, including BitMine setting a 5% hard cap on its share of the Ether supply and Pudgy Penguins-backed Abstract announcing plans to shut down after missing product-market fit.
The update was published Oct. 7, 2026, alongside a market snapshot showing gains across several tokens including ETH, BTC, XRP, and SOL.
