Gallagher Re appoints Julian Alovisi as Director of Market Research

Alovisi brings more than 25 years of experience across reinsurance and financial services, including six years at Howden where he led research from 2020 to 2026.

Gallagher Re has hired Julian Alovisi as Director of Market Research, according to Reinsurance News.

In the role, Alovisi said the timing is notable as the reinsurance market enters a period described as having ample capital, with competition increasing and pricing softening across many lines, amid volatile financial markets, persistent inflation, elevated government debt and ongoing geopolitical conflict.

Alovisi is London-based and has more than 25 years of experience across reinsurance, insurance and financial services. Before joining Gallagher Re, he spent six years at Howden as Head of Research from 2020 to 2026.

Earlier, he held senior research and market intelligence positions at Guy Carpenter and JLT Re, including Head of Research and Publications at Guy Carpenter from 2019 to 2020 and at JLT Re from 2015 to 2019.
