Gold rises as lower yields and a weaker dollar boost demand
XAU/USD was last up 0.48% at $4,130 after dropping to about $4,103, with Middle East tensions keeping inflation and yields elevated.
Gold prices edged higher on Thursday, supported by lower US Treasury yields and a weaker US Dollar, even as Federal Reserve officials continued to endorse further tightening, according to FXStreet.
At the time of writing, XAU/USD traded around $4,130, up 0.48%, after bottoming near $4,103.
FXStreet also linked the move to ongoing geopolitical strain in the Middle East that is pressuring inflation, with energy prices keeping global bond yields at multi-year highs.
The outlet said the Strait of Hormuz situation has helped push West Texas Intermediate crude to about $90.85, up over 2% for the session, after earlier gains of more than 4% were curbed by comments from US President Donald Trump.
