Google contracts 890 MW of nuclear power from Constellation

The deal covers 3,590 MW of electricity in the PJM grid, where the nuclear portion is set to provide about a quarter of the supply.

Google/Alphabet has contracted 3,590 megawatts of power from Constellation Energy for the PJM Interconnection grid, a system that serves 67 million people across 13 states and Washington, D.C., according to OilPrice.

The outlet reports that new nuclear power is expected to represent about a quarter of that contracted supply, or 890 megawatts.

OilPrice links the demand for additional power to artificial intelligence and data center expansion.
