Google Maps will show live petrol and diesel prices in the UK
The rollout will use government Fuel Finder data covering real-time prices at 99% of forecourts, starting Thursday.
Google will add live petrol and diesel prices to Google Maps for drivers in the UK starting Thursday, letting users search for nearby forecourts to find cheaper fuel options.
The company will pull pricing data from the government’s Fuel Finder platform, which provides real-time prices at 99% of forecourts.
The change is expected to make pump pricing more transparent and encourage competition, campaigners said.
The move comes after diesel hit a record £2 a litre, according to the report.
