Jefferies expects limited EPS impact on Adani Power after RBI rate hike
RBI lifted the repo rate by 25 bps to 5.50%, and Jefferies said Adani Power could see less than a 3% impact on EPS.
Jefferies India said Adani Power could experience less than a 3% impact on earnings per share after the Reserve Bank of India raised its repo rate by 25 bps to 5.50%.
The bank’s analysis, dated October 7, 2026, acknowledges that monetary tightening could pressure profitability for power companies, but it points to what it views as protection tied to regulated equity, fixed-rate loans, and lower pass through from rate hikes.
Jefferies said it retained a positive view on three Indian power stocks, including Adani Energy Solutions, JSW Energy, and NTPC, alongside Adani Power.
