Meghan Shea to lead New York Life group benefits unit from Jan. 2027
She succeeds Scott Berlin, who will retire Dec. 31 after more than 36 years at New York Life.
Insurance Business reports that Meghan Shea, a veteran of more than two decades in the group benefits business, will take over as head of New York Life Group Benefit Solutions on January 1, 2027.
The outlet says Shea will succeed Scott Berlin, who is set to retire on December 31 after more than 36 years with New York Life.
According to Insurance Business, Shea currently serves as vice president and head of distribution for GBS, a role she has held since 2024, and she has previously led strategy, solutions, and marketing within the division.
The story adds that the unit traces its current shape to New York Life's $6.3 billion acquisition of Cigna group life, accident, and disability operations in late 2020, which created GBS as it exists today.
