Tariff pressure revives search for an investor in Alaska LNG
OilPrice reports that Washington’s tariff pressure is increasing the odds of securing a backer for Alaska LNG, a project that has struggled to find investors for economic and technical reasons.
The story says Alaska LNG has regained momentum under President Donald Trump, who is using tariff threats to push foreign partners toward backing the development.
It adds that South Korea is now central to the effort, with Seoul weighing a bid tied to protecting access to the energy supply at issue.
