UAD 3.6 pushes lenders toward hybrid appraisals before Nov. 2
Hybrid appraisals are positioned as a faster path to meet the UAD 3.6 dataset and inspection changes, with lender orders needing to start in early October to complete files by the November 2 mandate.
HousingWire reports that UAD 3.6 will raise property data and inspection requirements, compressing mortgage lender timelines ahead of a Nov. 2 mandate.
The outlet says hybrid appraisals rely on standardized data collection and can reduce turn times, while also aligning with the new dataset needs required for files sold to the GSEs.
HousingWire notes that lenders do not have until November 2 to prepare, because completed files in the UAD 3.6 format must be finished well before the deadline, with orders expected to move through the process in early October.
Under the current process, appraisers can often complete an on-site inspection in roughly 20 minutes, but HousingWire says UAD 3.6 changes that, increasing the inspection burden and making the inspection workflow a key planning choice for lenders.
