US gasoline prices fall again, still set an October record

AAA said the national average slipped to $4.36 per gallon, remaining above $4 in every October on record.

U.S. gasoline prices declined for a second straight week, but drivers are still paying historically high prices for October, according to AAA data cited by OilPrice.

AAA put the national average at $4.36 per gallon Thursday, down about five cents from a week earlier.

The outlet said this is the first October in which the national average has stayed above $4 per gallon, with gasoline averaging $3.12 per gallon a year ago.
