In a late-day Americas FX wrap by Forexlive, U.S. stocks finished higher, with the Nasdaq gaining for a fourth straight week, while the dollar traded mixed and oil retreated amid Iran uncertainty.
Forexlive said the Canadian dollar weakened after Canada reported a September employment change of -68.3K, compared with an expected gain of +9.2K.
The wrap also noted that consumers reported rising inflation expectations, alongside a flatter Treasury curve and advances in gold and silver.
Forexlive added that the upcoming data calendar included U.S. inflation and retail sales, with additional attention on the University of Michigan preliminary consumer sentiment reading of 46.3, versus 47.8 expected.
