Newly pending home sales fall 8.5% as for-sale market slows

Zillow Research said the rental market remained firm, with the biggest annual rent increase since April 2025.

Zillow Research said newly pending home sales fell 8.5% as the for-sale housing market cooled.

In its September market report, the outlet noted that while the for-sale market is slowing, rentals continue to show strength.

The report pointed to the biggest annual rent gain since April 2025 as evidence that demand in the rental market remains supported.
