China pledges to expand health partnership with Kazakhstan via TCM integration

China’s embassy said the expanded cooperation will cover smart healthcare, hi-tech diagnostics and treatment, and support for Kazakhstan’s pharmaceutical industry and public health.

China has pledged to expand its health partnership with Kazakhstan by helping integrate traditional Chinese medicine into Kazakhstan’s national healthcare system, moving beyond selling traditional medicine products, according to the Chinese embassy in Kazakhstan.

At a medical seminar in Astana, Cheng Kefan, the embassy’s interim charge d’affaires, urged both countries to align high-level policy to enhance bilateral health cooperation.

The embassy said the cooperation is aimed at “smart healthcare” and hi-tech diagnostics and treatment, along with efforts involving the pharmaceutical industry and public health.

Cheng Kefan also framed the goal as extending the lifespans of both countries’ populations for generations to come, the SCMP Economy reported.
