North American millers seek stronger policy voice as pressures build
The North American Millers’ Association told members at its 2026 annual meeting that the milling industry should expect an amplified role in national discussions with policymakers and the public, as the agri-food sector faces an uncertain business environment, according to World Grain.
World Grain reports the meeting drew more than 125 milling industry leaders and guests and was held Oct. 1 to 4 in San Antonio, Texas.
Jane DeMarchi, NAMA president, said the industry is undergoing significant change and is dealing with supply-side and demand-side pressure, alongside macroeconomic and political forces outside individual companies’ control.
World Grain also reported that NAMA surveyed its board members ahead of the event to identify which issues and topics are most on the industry’s mind.
