EUR/USD rises as the US dollar retreats from recent highs

EUR/USD was around 1.1192, up 0.33% on the day, as a pullback in US Treasury yields helped weigh on the dollar.

EUR/USD gained ground on Tuesday after the US dollar retreated from recent highs, giving the euro room despite lingering concerns tied to France’s fiscal and political outlook, FXStreet reported. The pair was trading around 1.1192, up 0.33% on the day.

FXStreet said an earlier pullback in US Treasury yields helped drag the dollar lower, though yields later partly recovered, limiting additional losses. The US Dollar Index, or DXY, was around 102.25 after touching 102.61 on Monday, its highest since April 2025.

FXStreet also pointed to the market’s focus shifting toward the upcoming US Consumer Price Index report due Wednesday. The newsletter cited expectations for headline CPI to rise 0.6% month over month in September, and core CPI to increase 0.2% month over month, as traders position for implications ahead of the Fed meeting on October 27.
