The new round lifts Meanwhile’s total capital raised to more than $180 million as it expands policy distribution via 15 brokers in markets including Singapore, Hong Kong, the UAE, and Switzerland.
Meanwhile has raised $37.5 million in new funding from existing investors to support its Bitcoin life insurance business, bringing the company’s total capital raised to more than $180 million, according to Reinsurance News.
The round was led by Bain Capital Crypto and included investors Haun Ventures, Framework Ventures, Pantera Capital, Apollo, Northwestern Mutual Future Ventures, and Morgan Creek Digital, with backing from Sam Altman.
Meanwhile said demand for its Bitcoin life insurance policies has grown internationally, with surging interest particularly in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East amid broader macro instability.
To expand globally, the insurer partnered with 15 brokers serving wealthy families since launching BTC Life 1-Pay, a single-premium whole life policy for high-net-worth clients outside the United States, Reinsurance News reported.
