Specialty MGA hires David Higgins to build an international bloodstock portfolio
The London-based senior underwriter will start by adding capacity for high-value stallions across international markets, with the account set to broaden.
Specialty MGA, the managing general agent within MNK Group, has appointed David Higgins as Senior Underwriter for Bloodstock to develop a new international portfolio focused on high-value bloodstock risks, Reinsurance News reports.
Higgins joins Specialty MGA with more than four decades of underwriting experience covering bloodstock and aviation. His background includes leading the Bloodstock Unit at Novae Underwriting, managing the transfer of that portfolio to Castel, and later returning to the business as a bloodstock consultant where he supported underwriting and maintained relationships with clients and brokers in the UK and overseas.
In his new London-based role, Higgins will lead efforts to build a bloodstock account for significant-value risks across international markets. Specialty MGA said its initial focus is providing additional capacity for high-value stallions, and the portfolio is expected to broaden over time.
