Strategy bought 250 Bitcoin while spending $192.4M on STRC buybacks

The Oct. 12 disclosure shows Strategy extended a BTC purchase slowdown to 250 coins, after buying 334 BTC the prior week.

Strategy, formerly MicroStrategy, said it bought 250 Bitcoin for about $21.5 million between Oct. 5 and Oct. 11, as its pace of Bitcoin accumulation slowed.

In the same disclosure on Oct. 12, the company also reported repurchasing 1,932,145 shares of its variable-rate STRC preferred stock for $192.4 million, nearly nine times what it spent on Bitcoin.

Strategy said the latest Bitcoin purchase lifted its holdings to 848,250 BTC, acquired for about $64 billion at an average price of $75,444 per coin.

The outlet noted the recent slowdown follows a prior week total of 334 BTC, while Bitcoin struggled to maintain its recovery after a downturn that briefly pushed the cryptocurrency toward $80,000.
