WTW names Darrel Beaton Director of Underwriting effective Oct 5, 2026
Beaton is based in Austin, Texas, and previously spent 16 years at Effectus Insurance, most recently as Chief Underwriting Officer.
WTW has appointed Darrel Beaton as Director of Underwriting within its Insurance Consulting and Technology business, effective 5 October 2026, the insurer-adjacent advisory and broking firm said. Beaton will be based in Austin, Texas, and is expected to support WTW’s continued expansion of underwriting and product propositions, including efforts to modernise underwriting operations and use technology and analytics.
WTW said Beaton brings more than 30 years of experience across commercial underwriting and underwriting leadership, including product development, portfolio management, programme design, and portfolio performance in specialist risks.
Beaton joins WTW from Effectus Insurance, where he spent 16 years and most recently served as Chief Underwriting Officer, leading underwriting strategy, product development, portfolio growth, and profitability management across a broad range of commercial lines.
