Sompo names Martyn Benson UK Chief Operating Officer
The appointment follows Sompo’s integration of Sompo and Aspen and tasks Benson with improving operational performance and supporting business growth in the UK.
Sompo, an insurance and reinsurance solutions provider, has appointed Martyn Benson as Chief Operating Officer for its UK business, as it continues to develop its platform and build on opportunities linked to the integration of Sompo and Aspen, Reinsurance News reported.
Benson brings experience across financial services consulting, operational improvement, and executive leadership, including 10 years focused on consulting and operational excellence and 17 years in senior operational roles across the UK, EMEA, and APAC markets.
Before joining Sompo, he served as Chief Operating Officer, International Insurance, at Bermuda-based carrier Everest, according to Reinsurance News.
In his new role, Sompo said Benson will focus on improving operational performance, supporting business growth, and advancing the company’s UK strategy and proposition, reflecting further investment in its UK operations and leadership capabilities.
