Jeff Smith named CEO of Ryan Specialty Renewables practice
The unit will rebrand and unify Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers’ three renewable energy MGUs, with the rollout expected to finish in the third quarter of 2026.
Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers, a unit of Ryan Specialty, has appointed Jeff Smith as CEO of a newly created Ryan Specialty Renewables practice, effective immediately, according to Reinsurance News.
The practice, branded as RSUM’s managing general underwriting platform, is designed to deliver renewable and energy transition solutions globally, bringing together specialized underwriting capabilities, risk engineering, and claims support.
The announcement also sets out a rebranding and unification of RSUM’s three existing renewable energy MGUs, PERse North America, PERse International, and Albus, with that MGU rebranding planned to be completed during the third quarter of 2026.
Reinsurance News reports the company positions the worldwide strategy as a way to manage power and renewable energy risks using a single platform aimed at serving both large and middle-market insureds.
