Ma Xingrui removed from party and dismissed after anti-corruption probe
Authorities said the Politburo approved the case based on a report reviewed by the CCDI on June 30.
China has removed former Politburo member and Xinjiang party chief Ma Xingrui from the Communist Party and dismissed him from public office following an anti-corruption investigation, according to SCMP Economy.
The report, cited by the outlet as carried by state broadcaster Xinhua, said Ma, 67, became the third Politburo member to be investigated in the current party term that began in 2022.
SCMP Economy also noted that the Politburo reviewed and approved the CCDI report on Ma’s cases on June 30.
Xinhua described Ma as having lost faith in the party, abandoned political conviction, betrayed the party’s principles, and seriously violated political discipline and rules.
