Anthropic names Monica Shokrai Head of Business Risk & Insurance

Anthropic, the AI safety and research company, has appointed Monica Shokrai as Head of Business Risk & Insurance, aiming to strengthen its risk management and insurance posture in support of safe, responsible AI research.

According to Reinsurance News, Shokrai will work with the broader insurance industry to develop future coverage tied to AI, while using AI to drive operational transformation across the sector.

She joins Anthropic after nearly eight years at Google, where she most recently led Alphabet’s Actuarial, Analytics and Systems function supporting the Business Risk & Insurance team and related risk quantification initiatives.

Reinsurance News also said Shokrai previously led business risk and insurance for Google Cloud, managing insurance product development and partnerships, and earlier worked at Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance and WTW in actuarial and pricing roles.
