Fairway Home Mortgage launches Fairway SAFE to prevent senior scams
The program starts with a free national webinar on July 29 at 2 p.m. ET, focused on protecting seniors from financial abuse and scam tactics.
Fairway Home Mortgage has launched Fairway SAFE, a nonprofit initiative aimed at helping older adults and their families recognize and prevent financial scams, according to HousingWire.
The program will provide free education and advocacy resources for senior homeowners, caregivers, and financial professionals, as elder financial exploitation continues to rise and regulators warn that fraud tactics including impersonation, investment pitches, and romance scams increasingly target older adults.
To mark the launch, Fairway will host a free national webinar, “Stay Safe: Protecting Yourself from Scams & Financial Abuse,” on July 29 at 2 p.m. ET, featuring fraud prevention expert Steven J. J. Weisman.
Fairway SAFE says it plans to expand beyond the initial webinar with additional programming, educational materials, community partnerships, and advocacy efforts centered on fraud prevention and financial literacy for seniors.
