U.S. imposes 25% tariff on most Brazilian goods
A separate forced-labor probe could add a further 12.5% duty, with a decision due next week.
The U.S. is imposing a 25% tariff on most Brazilian goods, citing unfair trade practices, according to CNBC Markets and CNBC World.
The outlets said the measures are separate from another U.S. probe tied to forced-labor enforcement, which could add an additional 12.5% duty on top of the 25%.
CNBC reported that the decision on that forced-labor related action is due next week.
The combined potential duties raise the cost of Brazilian imports covered by the tariff actions, at a time when U.S. trade policy scrutiny remains focused on compliance and supply chain practices.
