Kingstone to offer smart fire monitoring to eligible New York policyholders
Starting in July, eligible homeowners will receive the Whisker Labs Ting sensor plus three years of monitoring at no cost through a partnership with vipHomeLink.
Kingstone Insurance is launching an electrical fire prevention program for eligible homeowners insurance policyholders in New York, beginning in July.
Eligible customers will receive Whisker Labs’ Ting smart sensor and three years of monitoring service at no cost, delivered through Kingstone’s partnership with home management platform vipHomeLink.
Ting plugs into an electrical outlet and monitors for hidden electrical hazards that can originate from wiring, appliances, connected devices, or incoming power, and it can trigger alerts for power outages and frozen pipes.
When a hazard is detected, Whisker Labs’ Fire Safety Team works with the homeowner to address it, and Kingstone president and CEO Meryl Golden said the effort is meant to identify electrical fire risks before they become losses.
