Hippo+ expands to Virginia with three coverage tiers
The Hippo+ package includes up to $400 annually for preventive maintenance and up to $100 for other home services, with a 180-day workmanship guarantee.
Hippo has expanded its Hippo+ bundled home coverage to Virginia after an initial launch in Central Texas last month, combining homeowners insurance, home warranty protection, proactive home care services, and access to dedicated advisors.
Customers can choose among three tiers, Basic, Core, and Enhanced. Basic includes homeowners insurance and HVAC warranty protection, Core adds warranty coverage for major systems such as plumbing and electrical, and Enhanced further covers kitchen and laundry appliances.
Each Hippo+ package includes up to $400 annually toward preventive maintenance services and up to $100 toward other home services, including gutter cleaning, pest control, and tree trimming. The offering also includes a 180-day workmanship guarantee.
On the insurance and warranty side, the homeowners insurance component is underwritten by Spinnaker and distributed through the excess and surplus lines market, while warranty coverage is provided by HomeSure of America, a Cinch company, with claims administration handled by Cinch Home Services. Hippo is also set to serve as a fronting carrier for more than $500 million in annual gross written premiums across Accelerant's U.S. portfolio in 2027.
