Crypto drifts lower as equities rise, with PUMP jumping 20%

Bitcoin was down 1% to about $64,362.74 while Nasdaq 100 and S&P 500 futures gained, extending a 2026 divergence; Solana futures open interest also fell to 62 million tokens, the lowest since early May.

Crypto prices edged lower even as U.S. equity index futures advanced, extending a split between the two asset classes seen for much of 2026, according to CoinDesk. The outlet cited bitcoin down 1% to about $64,362.74, while Nasdaq 100 and S&P 500 futures rose 0.35% and 0.20%, respectively.

CoinDesk highlighted that Pump.fun token PUMP was the standout mover, surging 20% on bullish social-media commentary attributed to crypto influencer Ansem. In a broader risk picture, CoinMarketCap’s Altcoin Season indicator was at 55 out of 100 and the Fear and Greed index sat at 34, in “fear” territory, with an average crypto RSI of 44.07.

The report also pointed to positioning and leverage signals. It said bitcoin futures open interest growth stalled near 750K BTC, suggesting limited demand for leverage, while Solana futures open interest declined to 62 million tokens, down from a June 24 peak of more than 76 million, indicating position unwinding in SOL.

CoinDesk added that bitcoin cash was a notable exception: BCH futures open interest jumped 20% to 1.73 million tokens, matching a record set on June 21, while BCH itself was down 3% over the past 24 hours to around $213.
