Hong Kong Palace Museum signs MOU with Uzbekistan Islamic Civilisation Centre

The memorandum of understanding aims to support joint exhibitions, academic research, and professional training as the first reciprocal Central Asian visit after a John Lee delegation trip.

The Hong Kong Palace Museum has signed a memorandum of understanding with Uzbekistan’s Islamic Civilisation Centre to collaborate on future projects, including joint exhibitions, academic research, and professional training and development, according to SCMP Economy.

SCMP Economy reports the signing ceremony on Monday also marked the first official reciprocal visit by a Central Asian cultural institution since Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu led a delegation to the region last month.

The Palace Museum’s director, Dr Louis Ng Chi-wa, said the discussions during his trip to Uzbekistan quickly translated into the agreement in Hong Kong, while the Uzbek centre’s director, Dr Firdavs Abdukhalikov, said the goal of the memorandum was to establish ties with the museum.
