HarbourVest signs 10-year lease for its first NYC office at 9 W 57th St

The firm leased 19,752 square feet on the 49th floor of 9 West 57th Street, a tower built in 1974 that already houses tenants including Hess Group and Tikehau Capital.

HarbourVest Partners, a global private markets investment firm, is moving into its first New York City office after signing a 10-year lease at 9 West 57th Street, Commercial Observer reports.

The firm will take 19,752 square feet on part of the 49th floor of the Soloviev Group tower. The asking rent was not disclosed, though Commercial Observer previously reported a record asking rent for the building at $327.50 per square foot.

Commercial Observer also noted that Midtown office average asking rents were $98.98 per square foot in the first half of 2026, citing Colliers research. HarbourVest was represented by JLL’s Alexander Chudnoff and Ava Loughlin, while Soloviev Group was represented by CBRE’s Howard Fiddle, John Maher, Gregg Rothkin, Tara Rhodes, and Alex Leopold.

JLL’s Alexander Chudnoff said HarbourVest wanted its New York office to reflect the caliber of its business and offer an exceptional experience for clients and employees. Built in 1974, 9 West 57th Street has tenants including Hess Group and Tikehau Capital.
