Indian Overseas Bank shares jump after June quarter results
IOB reported net profit up 49.3% year-on-year to ₹1,659 crore for the June quarter, alongside a rise in net interest income to ₹3,688 crore.
Indian Overseas Bank shares rose sharply after the lender posted strong June quarter results. LiveMint Markets said the stock climbed 3% to ₹34.91 on NSE, after opening at ₹34.14 versus a previous close of ₹33.81.
For the quarter ended June 30, 2026, IOB’s net profit surged 49.3% year-on-year to ₹1,659 crore, driven by higher net interest income and improved asset quality, according to the report.
LiveMint Markets reported that net interest income increased 34% year-on-year to ₹3,688 crore. Asset quality also strengthened, with the gross non-performing asset ratio improving to 1.33% from 1.42% in the March quarter, and net NPA falling to 0.18% from 0.21%.
The report added that total deposits grew 13.72% year-on-year to ₹3.76 lakh crore, while the bank kept its domestic CASA ratio at 41.45% and global CASA ratio at 41.05%. Despite the jump after results, the stock remained volatile, with LiveMint Markets noting a 5.43% fall over six months and a 9% decline year-to-date.
