Oil bounce and AI selloff push bitcoin below $64,000

Bitcoin traded around $63,900 Monday after Brent crude jumped above $91 a barrel to a one-month high, reviving inflation worries.

Bitcoin slid to about $63,900 on Monday, down 1.3% for the day but still up roughly 2% on the week, as traders weighed two competing forces in global markets.

CoinDesk said crypto was stuck between a war-related oil rally and a lingering AI-driven selloff that had pressured chip stocks on Friday, leaving major tokens broadly lower on the day.

Ether eased 1.1% to around $1,850, BNB fell 0.8% to about $564, XRP slipped to $1.09, and dogecoin dropped 1.4%. Hyperliquid's HYPE was the weakest of the majors, down 8% on the week to about $60.

CoinDesk also tied the broader risk tone to energy prices, noting Brent crude climbed to a one-month high above $91 a barrel as U.S.-Iran strikes widened, bringing back inflation concerns after soft U.S. price data had recently eased them.
