Crypto rally lifts bitcoin above $66,000 as U.S. Clarity Act progress nears
Bitcoin rose 3.5% in 24 hours to a one-month high above $66,000 as reports said Trump agreed to an ethics provision tied to Senate passage of the U.S. Clarity Act.
Crypto markets rallied, with bitcoin climbing above $66,000, after reports that U.S. President Donald Trump agreed to a key ethics provision for the crypto market structure bill, a major sticking point for Senate progress. According to CoinDesk, the bill is intended to establish a clearer regulatory framework and distinguish digital commodities from securities to reduce enforcement-led oversight.
Derivatives and options activity also pointed to renewed interest, with rising open interest and call-heavy positioning reported for bitcoin and ether. CoinDesk also cited broader inflows into major altcoins, even as volatility indicators suggested demand for hedging remains in place.
In the broader market, ether and other large tokens posted gains, while BNB and XRP were among the cryptocurrencies that rose. CoinDesk noted that the CoinDesk DeFi Select Index surged 9%.
CoinDesk added that Solana’s tokenized asset volume reached a record in the second quarter amid growth in real-world asset tokenization, signaling continued institutional adoption. Analysts are watching the $68,000 area closely, with FxPro’s Alex Kuptsikevich pointing to a 61.8% Fibonacci retracement zone near that level and saying consolidation above it would be an upside confirmation.
