Resorts World NYC adds 1,400 slot machines to its casino floor
The expansion follows a ramp-up that already generated more than $230 million in gross gaming revenue in 11 weeks, and it is part of a planned $5.5 billion buildout with a larger gaming floor by 2030.
Resorts World New York City opened the first floor of its commercial casino and added 1,400 slot machines, less than three months after the venue became the city’s first full-fledged casino, according to ConnectCRE.
The new machines bring the property’s total to 3,900 slot machines onsite, and the company said the additional capacity is expected to increase gross gaming revenue and the related taxes paid to New York State.
In remarks carried by ConnectCRE, Genting Americas East President Robert DeSalvio said the slot machines generated more than $230 million in gross gaming revenue in just 11 weeks since the casino opened.
ConnectCRE also said the gaming operation is the first stage of a planned $5.5 billion expansion, with Resorts World NYC targeting a 350,000-square-foot gaming floor, 6,000 slot machines, 800 live table games, and a 7,000-seat entertainment venue by 2030.
