XRP jumps as Trump agreement lifts odds for Clarity Act passage

XRP rose 3.3% to about $1.1485, helping lift broader crypto after Polymarket boosted Clarity Act passage odds to 43% from 32%.

XRP surged on Monday amid renewed optimism around the stalled Clarity Act, which could formally classify the token as a digital commodity. According to Decrypt, XRP gained 3.25% to $1.1485 and ranked third among top-50 performers, behind Ondo and Cardano, as a late report said President Donald Trump agreed to the ethics provision that has been holding the bill in the Senate.

The news helped lift broader risk sentiment in digital assets, Decrypt said, with Bitcoin climbing above $66,000. The outlet also cited spot ETF inflows for Bitcoin topping $700 million over five days, while a bounce in Asian AI and semiconductor stocks added to the overall risk-on tone.

Decrypt reported that XRP had been capped below $1.13 in recent rallies, and the move pushed the token to an intraday high of $1.1511. The price action triggered about $2.93 million in leveraged short liquidations, and XRP remained around a roughly $68 billion market cap after settling near $1.1485.

For XRP specifically, Decrypt said the Clarity Act would reduce regulatory ambiguity that has weighed on institutional demand by classifying XRP as a digital commodity. The ethics provision would bar the president and his family from directly benefiting from cryptocurrency ventures, and Decrypt noted the Senate must vote before the August recess, with passage odds on Polymarket moving to 43% from 32%.
