Kernel boosts grain exports to 6.3 million tonnes in fiscal 2026

The company said higher corn in its 2025 harvest mix and increased intake volumes from third party farmers helped drive a 15% year over year export gain.

Ukrainian grains producer and exporter Kernel Holding SA reported that it shipped 6.3 million tonnes of grain in fiscal year 2026, up 15% year on year, according to a July 22 company announcement covered by World Grain.

Kernel said throughput at its export terminals increased 5% to 9.6 million tonnes, with its elevator network handling 4.3 million tonnes of grains and oilseeds during the fiscal year that ended June 30. The company attributed the export and handling increase to a higher share of corn in its 2025 harvest mix and higher intake volumes from third party farmers.

Despite a shortage of sunflower seed following last year’s smaller harvest, Kernel said it processed 3.2 million tonnes of oilseeds, partially offset by soybeans and rapeseed. It also reported vegetable oil sales rose 2% year on year to 1.44 million tonnes.

Looking ahead to fiscal year 2027, Kernel said it plans to adapt operations to heightened security challenges, support agricultural producers, and ensure the resilience of its business. World Grain noted that Kernel’s operations in Ukraine have faced missile and drone attacks, including damage to a sunflower oil transshipment terminal in Odesa and suspension of export terminal operations in Chornomorsk after infrastructure damage.
