10-year Treasury yield rises to highest since January 2025
Yields climbed after oil prices moved higher and traders also reacted to a slump in weekly unemployment insurance claims.
U.S. Treasury yields rose on Wednesday, with the 10-year note reaching its highest level since January 2025, as market participants grew concerned about renewed inflation pressure.
CNBC Markets attributed the move to firmer oil prices, which helped rekindle fears that energy costs could push inflation higher.
The outlet also noted traders responded to a weekly dip in unemployment insurance claims, adding another reason for the bond selloff.
