AXA XL appoints Grace Xu to senior captive underwriting role
Xu joins from Starr Insurance, where she worked in captive reinsurance fronting in Los Angeles for more than three years.
AXA XL has appointed Grace Xu as Senior Underwriter, Captives, within its Alternative Risk Solutions team, based in Los Angeles, California, as the insurer continues to expand its captive insurance and alternative risk capabilities.
According to Reinsurance News, Xu previously spent more than three years at Starr Insurance, most recently serving as Underwriter, Captive Reinsurance Fronting. In that role, she assessed complex risks across industries, structured and priced reinsurance agreements, and worked with captive managers, brokers, and actuaries on alternative risk transfer solutions aligned with clients’ regulatory, capital, and long term risk management objectives.
Before her most recent Starr position, Xu was an Associate Underwriter at Starr Insurance, focused on captive reinsurance fronting and risk management, and she completed an internship with the company’s Global Operations Technology team in Chicago.
At AXA XL, the insurer says Xu will support the Alternative Risk Solutions team by underwriting captive insurance programmes and contributing to its specialist alternative risk offerings for clients across a range of sectors.
