Baker Harris Hopkins Insurance sold to Ascent Insurance Group in Oklahoma
The transaction closed July 1, 2026, expanding Ascent’s Keystone-linked footprint in Oklahoma where it previously added Cole, Paine & Carlin in 2025.
Insurance Business reports that Baker Harris Hopkins Insurance Agency has been sold to Ascent Insurance Group, a Keystone Platform Partner headquartered in Oklahoma City.
The deal, carried out through the parent company Ghentco Inc., transferred ownership and closed on July 1, 2026. The agency serves clients across Oklahoma with personal, commercial, life and health, farm, specialty, and recreational vehicle coverage.
Ascent offers personal and commercial coverage, including home, auto, business, life, and specialty lines, through carrier partnerships. Ascent operates within Keystone, the independent brokerage network based in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, which provides carrier management, claims advocacy, sales enablement, marketing support, and operational consulting to member agencies.
Keystone says the acquisition adds to its Oklahoma footprint, following Ascent’s 2025 addition of Cole, Paine & Carlin Insurance Agency. The transaction also comes as the broader US agency M and A market has slowed, with OPTIS Partners tracking 292 acquisitions in the first half of 2026, down 15% year over year, and the weakest first-half total in seven years.
