Coinbase plans to let businesses accept payments from AI bots, a move it described as its most high conviction bet for AI payments, according to The Block.

The feature will be powered by Coinbase Payments and the x402 standard, which is designed to support the agent payments use case as businesses begin adopting them.

The rollout focuses on enabling merchants to take transactions initiated by AI systems, rather than payments limited to traditional customer accounts.
