Goosehead names insider Mark Jones Jr. CEO effective Jan 1, 2027

Q2 2026 results showed $1.34 billion in written premiums, a 14% year-over-year increase, as policies in force rose 15% to about 2.1 million.

Goosehead Insurance, Inc. said Mark Miller will retire as chief executive officer effective December 31, with Mark Jones, Jr., currently president and chief operating officer, taking over as CEO and president on January 1, 2027. Miller will remain on the company board, and the change follows a succession plan developed by the board.

In a statement carried by Insurance Business, the company said Jones, Jr. will prioritize technology platform expansion, distribution network growth, and long-term shareholder value creation. Jones joined the Westlake, Texas-based personal lines agency in 2016 and was appointed president and COO in 2025, overseeing finance and operational functions.

Goosehead reported Q2 2026 total written premiums of $1.34 billion, up 14% versus the same quarter in 2025. Policies in force grew 15% year-over-year to approximately 2.1 million, while client retention was 86%.

Financially, the insurer posted core revenues of $95.6 million, up 10% year-over-year, and total revenues of $113.4 million, up 21%. Adjusted EBITDA rose 30% to $37.9 million, and net income increased to $17 million from $8.3 million a year earlier.
