Shaw Construction to tout partner network at Colorado Mountain Developments Summit
The Colorado-based firm says its model relies on nearly all negotiated work and aims to expand its roster of trusted subcontractors and vendors.
Shaw Construction says its ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and other stakeholders helps it stand out in the Rocky Mountain construction market, where it has completed more than 1,700 projects for clients in the region, according to Bisnow.
The company operates as a general contractor, construction manager, or design-builder as needed, and Vice President and Construction Manager Robert Glover said its business model depends on being “almost 100% negotiated work,” a structure he linked to the need for trusted partners in housing and multifamily projects, which he described as a litigious market.
Shaw plans to participate in Bisnow’s Colorado Mountain Developments Summit on Aug. 26, where a Shaw construction manager is scheduled to serve on a panel, with the company framing the event as a way to connect with local governments, vendors, and subcontractors.
Glover also pointed to regional development pressures, including affordable housing challenges for workers such as teachers and police, and said Shaw views close collaboration with stakeholders as key to balancing those needs with local communities’ goals around historic character and zoning rules.
