AIPSO names Les Willis CEO, Canopius appoints Stacey Alioto COO

Willis succeeds Charles Kwolek, who is retiring after 32 years, while Alioto is set to join Canopius in September from HSBC.

Insurance Journal reports the Automobile Insurance Plans Service Office, a national non-profit that manages residual market auto insurance plans for high-risk drivers, appointed Executive Vice President Les Willis as president and CEO.

Willis succeeds Charles Kwolek, who is retiring after a 32-year career with AIPSO. Before joining the organization full time, Willis served on AIPSO’s board for 10 years, including two terms as chair, and previously worked at State Farm, including as vice president of operations.

The same leadership update includes Canopius Group, where Stacey Alioto was named group chief operating officer and will report to CEO Neil Robertson. Alioto will join Canopius in September, succeeding Kate Roy, who is retiring after a five-year tenure as group COO.

Insurance Journal also notes additional North American leadership changes at Doubtless, including May Pelz expanding her responsibilities as president of Pets Best, after joining in March with responsibilities across Pets Best’s partner and customer channels.
