Berkshire completes $8.5B enterprise value purchase of Taylor Morrison
The cash deal pays $72.50 per share and keeps Taylor Morrison’s CEO, Sheryl Palmer, in charge as the builder integrates with Clayton Properties Group.
Berkshire Hathaway has completed its cash acquisition of homebuilder Taylor Morrison Home, valuing the company at about $6.8 billion in equity and $8.5 billion in enterprise value, HousingWire reported. The purchase price was $72.50 per Taylor Morrison common share. The deal, first announced in late May 2026, adds Taylor Morrison to Berkshire’s Clayton Properties Group platform. Taylor Morrison is headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, and CEO Sheryl Palmer will continue to lead the business as it integrates with Clayton’s site-built homebuilder operations. Combined, Taylor Morrison and Clayton Properties Group delivered nearly 23,000 site-built home closings in 2025, operate in 21 states and 52 housing markets, and serve more than 700 communities nationally, according to the companies. The businesses position the unit as the fourth-largest homebuilding operation in the United States. Berkshire said Taylor Morrison will oversee integration of its brands, including Esplanade, Yardly, and Taylor Morrison Home Funding, with Clayton Properties Group’s collection of 15 regional and local builders. In 2025, Taylor Morrison reported revenue of $7.76 billion and delivered 12,997 homes across 21 markets in 12 states, the companies said.
