Bitcoin ETFs see $225.2M net outflows as Iran tensions weigh
The decline snapped a seven-day inflow streak near $1B, with BlackRock’s IBIT accounting for $202.5M of the outflows on July 23.
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $225.2 million in net outflows on July 23, ending a seven-day streak that had drawn in nearly $1 billion, according to Decrypt citing SoSoValue data.
BlackRock’s IBIT led the pullback with $202.5 million in outflows, while Morgan Stanley’s MSBT was the only Bitcoin fund to add money, taking in $5 million. Decrypt also reported that spot Ethereum ETFs moved in the opposite direction, adding $26.3 million and extending their inflow streak to five straight sessions.
The day’s outflows coincided with market pressure tied to renewed U.S.-Iran hostilities, which Decrypt said helped keep oil prices elevated and contributed to a broader risk-off move in U.S. stocks.
Despite Thursday being the funds’ first losing day in more than a week, Decrypt noted the group still closed roughly $274 million higher over the five sessions through Thursday.
