Dollar slips as oil eases and Treasury yields fall

EUR/USD rose to 1.1385 while USD/JPY stayed near 40-year highs around 163.75 as risk aversion eased.

Markets in the European session took a lighter tone as oil pulled back and bond yields retreated from earlier highs, helping the dollar hold slightly lower across major currency pairs, according to Forexlive.

WTI crude fell 2.7% to $89.65 and Brent crude dropped 2.6% to $98.05, with the week still tracking gains of 9% for WTI and more than 11% for Brent at current levels.

That move fed through to rates, with 10-year yields in Germany edging down from 3.20% to 3.18% and US 10-year yields slipping from 4.71% to 4.68%.

In FX, EUR/USD was up 0.1% to 1.1385, while USD/JPY fell 0.1% but remained close to 40-year highs at 163.75.
