Kalind shares jump 5% after 1:5 split and 1:2 bonus issue

The stock traded at ₹11.29 after adjusting for the 1:5 stock split and 1:2 bonus, with an adjusted Thursday base of about ₹10.79, while shareholders saw the apparent demat drop as purely technical.

Shares of small-cap Kalind rose about 5% on July 24 to ₹11.29, but some investors noticed an 86% decline reflected in their demat accounts versus the prior day’s closing price. LiveMint Markets said the move was a technical adjustment tied to corporate actions, not a negative market development.

Kalind had set July 24 as the record date for a 1:5 stock split and a 1:2 bonus issue, both effective from Friday. The stock price was adjusted to reflect the increased number of shares outstanding after the split and bonus, putting the adjusted closing price from Thursday at around ₹10.79 per share.

Against that adjusted base, the shares ended the day at ₹11.29, implying about a 4.6% gain for the session. LiveMint Markets also said the overall value of shareholders’ holdings was broadly unchanged, aside from the day’s actual market move.

The article added that Kalind’s stock has risen sharply since an October 2024 bull run, ending CY2025 with a multibagger gain of 1,875% and extending into 2026 with a further 17.5% rise so far, while public shareholders owned 84.8% as of the June 2026 quarter, up from 29.6% a year earlier.
