Oil prices drop after report Pakistan seeks new U.S.-Iran talks

The report comes as U.S.-Iran tensions keep escalating, helping support oil for the week despite the day’s slide.

Oil prices fell by around 3% on Friday, according to CNBC World, after a report said Pakistan is pushing for new U.S.-Iran talks with China’s backing.

Despite the sharp drop, crude remained on track for a weekly gain of about 10%, as the U.S.-Iran war continued to escalate.
