Bitcoin tops $65,000 as U.S.-Iran tensions ease
Bitcoin was up about 1.2% over 24 hours to $65,392.7, while oil-linked WTI futures fell around 5%.
Crypto markets turned risk-on after the U.S. and Iran paused military strikes for a second straight day, with the development dragging oil lower and lifting digital assets, CoinDesk reported.
Bitcoin traded back above $65,000 at $65,392.72, up about 1.2% over 24 hours, while Ether rose more than 3% to nearly $1,950 and several other top-10 tokens also gained.
The shift came as markets watched macro events, with the next Federal Reserve meeting flagged as a near-term risk. CoinDesk cited a 36.3% probability for a 25-basis-point rate increase.
CoinDesk also pointed to oil pressure, noting Brent crude fell 4.7% to $92.19 and WTI futures gapped lower on Monday to around 5% down near $85, as traders rotated within crypto rather than pushing a broad altcoin rally, with bitcoin dominance at 58.6%.
